Welcome to the madhouse...errr, forum. It's a good question, but a little too open ended to give a straightforward answer. If by "proper use" you mean the camera settings, try this thread for some info

They're using a different camera platform, but the techniques are the same.
But above all, learn how to fly first. If you can't maintain complete control over where you want your P3 to go, no amount of fiddling with the camera settings or post work will make your shot look good.
Of course, if you have a ton of experience in flying quads, ignore my previous statement.
