Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and flying. I just bought a used P3S. I was told that the pitch motor needed to be replaced as the camera does not move up and down when I use the scroll wheel on the remote. Typically when I fly I position the camera forward facing and I can fly for a few minutes before it drops straight down. Well yesterday I went out flying and surprisingly the camera worked perfectly fine and the scroll wheel moved it up and down. It only worked for a few minutes before going back to non responsive. That had me thinking maybe it's not the motor? Has anybody ran into anything like this?

Not an ac expert - but 55 years of electrical engineering experience. I would for sure do a very careful inspection of the wires. If u find nothing external a disassembly would be in order. If u found something external it would probably still require disassy but it I would bet it isn't the motor based on failure probability. But, there is still a small % for the motor.
The pitch motor is one of the harder motors to undo the wiring if you are not familiar with the connectors. I have a little metal hook that I use to flip the lever up. Then all l would have to do is push to ribbon in and push back down on the lever. Done.
Otherwise you have to remove the camera to get to the screws to remove the cover to the pitch motor so you can get to the ribbon connector.

I've tried doing the auto calibration but it still doesn't move up/down. I haven't been able to get it working normally since last week. I'll attempt to replace the cable first and see if that works. Thanks all
I don't mean to butt in on this thread but I have something similar. I crashed mine and it yanked the 4 wires out of the one connector that plugs into the camera . I pushed the 4 wires back into the connector and just guessed on the order, went from one side of the ribbon and pushed them in as the ribbon laid. Started the drone up and turned on the camera, the camera surprisingly worked but it would not tilt up or down. I've looked all over and I cannot find anywhere to order that particular ribbon. Any help would be appreciated.
just got the word...the pitch motor was cleaned and now working
regarding the grainy noise when on video mode, the fix will be flat cable replacement
so..the lab got back to me again
they found the real root cause which is a bent shaft of the tilt motor of the 4K cam.
they want too much for the fix. I figure i will do it myself.
Does anyone have the model/link for the cam tilt motor?

There is no part number because DJI does not sell parts. It is called a " Pitch Motor" Go to EBay and search for " DJI Phantom 3 pitch motor"
The pitch motor for the P3 works on the Standard, Advanced and the Pro. They only used one motor for all 3. You should be able to find a seller in your country. There are lots of sellers in China selling these if you want to wait.
