calibration issues

I went out to fly, and did the calibration song and dance routine. It does not flash the correct colours. in fact it flashes the following sequence

red-red-red green red-red-red-green

Does anyone know the cause or remedy for this??
I did they take off, but the craft could not hover or hold position

3 Reds signifies no satallites, just be patient and wait, it will slowly reduce 3,2,1 flashes 1 flash indicates 6+ signals, it will then do a series of fast flashing greens, this indicated home lock and gps acheived. it will eventually flash green only, which is the ideal flying system. these conditions will allow it to hover in gps mode.
