Black Pearl Monitor with P4 Controller

Has anyone done this mod, switching out the P4 controller back plate with a Inspire back plate ( That has HMDI ports ) and hooking it up to a black pearl model 801 monitor ?This seems feasible according to a video posted on u-tube.
