Best Phantom Camera?

DJI has seemed to prefer GoPro cameras, and consensus seems to be that they're still better than DJI's own Vision cameras. If the drone maker can't improve the camera, could GoPro make a better drone camera if it wanted to? Minimizing weight and reducing expense just by eliminating features unusable in remote controlled aerial mode might be worthwhile. Haven't looked closely at the smaller cube camera in the Hero 4 line. Could this be what I had in mind?

I think when gopro comes out with their own drone next year, the "session" will be one of the camera gimbal offerings...

wouldn't be surprised if someone creates a gimbal for the session that fits the phantom...
