The parts list is a $4 battery tray, or $3.25 with a wholesaler account (3K Carbon Dual Battery Mounting Base for DJI Phantom_DJI Universal Accessories_RC Multicopters(FPV)_RC Model_site) and a couple 99 cent XT60 leads. The soldering job is pretty trivial. The most difficult and time consuming part of the install is going to be getting the top shell off. If that is worth $300 to you, go for it!
ok, so we have parts, now, where are the install pics or instructions for help with this. I know the shell is the hardest part, were do we solder?
When you get the shell off, you can see where the battery leads go into the board. You could probably just attach to that. Alternatively there are two sets of untapped power pads right next to it. I would suggest those but I haven't measure the voltage with a meter to make sure that it's directly off the battery.
Is modding the battery not a better method from a keeping any hope of a warranty repair point of view.

I assume that's with a battery mod, gimbal removed and just in a hover?
