Battery Charger Temp

I've had the charger on a 70% depleted battery for about an hour and it's almost done charging. I've never noticed it before but the charger is getting pretty hot, not too hot to handle but pretty dang warm. Maybe it's always been that way and like I said just never picked it up while in the charging process. Is it normal?
