Auto Exposure - stepped, not smooth

Guys I have had many phantom models but noticed the 4P on auto exposure modes (A,S,P) does not smoothly adjust exposure like the 3P did. It makes the clips unusable. It is just like dialing in exposure in Manual mode.

Anyone got a solution?
