Could someone please tell me I'm not imagining this. Is there a difference in colour between the 2 images?
The image on the left is the original video I shot straight out of the Phantom. The image on the right is a 10sec clip from that video (shortened for testing purposes) with no modifications, only exported directly.

Does anyone here use Premiere who could tell me why this happens or what I'm doing wrong?
Method: I import the video, right-click and "new sequence from clip". It creates a sequence with appropriate settings and adds the video. I immediately go file>export>media and no matter what setting I choose the result is the same. The one I usually use is h.264 with the preset "HD 1080p 29.97" but I've also tried the default "Android Tablet 1080p", "Youtube HD 1080p" and a few others. I've also tried AVI which turned out proper ****.
What am I doing wrong, if anything?
