Adding new controller?

My P3A controller has decided it won't charge past 58%, assuming I can't fix it somehow, how easy is it to add a new controller? Does the firmware on the controller have to match the aircraft?

You'll just need to link the new remote controller in DJI GO like this:

If the remote controller firmware needs to be updated, DJI GO will prompt you to update it.
