I had same issue as OP and it took me many frustrating hours before I finally tried “re-linking” and voila...it finally linked the controller and drone. Follow the procedure to link the units...no harm if it doesn’t work.

I understand now but not all are techies...the error message said I was "not connected to the internet" and I thought I needed to be...that created the confusion. DGI should make note of that and let OP's know to disregard the message in their setup instructions..

How can you tell the camera position on the drone, ie., is the camera pointed away or towards controller? Can the DGI App tell which way the camera is directed or does one just have to actually see the camera direction? Trying to understand since it affects joy stick controls.

Not flying inside...just trying to learn how to initialize...no props on. Found the simulator on DGI App and "flying" inside to learn controls. One day when it warms up I will try outside.

Yes beginner mode and I am indoors...maybe that is why...difficult to get satellite connection for GPS. Too dang cold to try out side, 9 degrees, to try and get better signals. Thanks

How long should it take for the drone to “warm up” before it’s ready to fly. It seems like mine takes 5-10 minutes before drone blinks green, is connected, camera initiates, before I am able to start the engines. I thought it would only take less than a minute before drone is ready.

Thanks. I reloaded App and went through registration with home wifi not phantom and I finally got connected. Why the hell do they have that Phantom wifi setting if it is not required? Grrr!!
