OK finally got it, did not realize I didn't have to plug the controller into my computer, was trying to plug it into the usb port on the bottom but nothing would happen. Rather I just plugged my phantom into my computer, turned it on with the controller and it connected to the computer fine. thanks

I really don't think it matters much what order, but I would always start with turning off the Phantom, then then remote controller, then the wifi extender. Should really not take more than 15-20 seconds total.

Took her up for the second or third flight and about 2 mins in I see a couple bumble bees buzzing around it, it starts to attract more and more and when I brought the Phantom close I could see at least 50 big bees checking it out, some getting sliced by the propellers and dropping like...bees...
The lens cap and gimbal clamp were always taken off before turning it on. Maybe I am over thinking this, mind you it is not a loud buzz, when I take a couple steps back you cannot hear it but up close it is noticeable.
