Wide angle Lenses 170deg vs 130deg

I noticed that most of the Action cams have 170 degree wide angle lenses.

I'm not particularly fond of 170deg wide angle lenses because of the fish eye effect.
I would rather have less distortion and better distance clarity and just pan a bit more. Just me.

That said, I know next to nothing about video so feel free to correct me at anytime.

Are there actions cams that offer less of the fisheye effect? I believe that GoPro and SJCams (AFAIK) only have the wide angle lenses?

What's your opinion on lenses that are not quite so wide angle?
 
I can only address the last question.

I like them, sometimes. As long as resolution isn't a serious issue, you could always find a software which will reduce, or even eliminate the fisheye effect.

Doesn't long distance resolution suffer from fisheye lenses? (even if software can reduce the effect)
