We will be in the Netherlands for a few days this spring on vacation and I would like to bring along my drone. I don't have a part 107, I'm just a hobbyist. Will I be able to fly legally as a foreigner? Are the rules the same there as in the US?
Yep no license needed but you have to follow the strict Dutch drone Laws. There is a map of no fly zones and zones you need permission etc.
Max height is 120m and distance 500m and drone must be in view at all times.
Map red areas forbidden, pink partially forbidden, green varies from park to park as they are nature areas.
don't fly near roads, near people or animals, over buildings etc etc. common sense really.
Stay away from groups with people like tourist attractions. There are also plenty of opportunities to fly. Consider, for example, the vast tulip fields. You are most welcome.
Do the tulip fields tend to be located in one area of the county? We have plans to visit the Keukenhof Gardens, but I assume that is one of the tourist attractions where drones are not allowed.
