I would like to know exactly what the legal definition for "crowd" is.
How many people are required to become a crowd?
You fly over a beach and there are a hundred people on it all scattered over a mile.
This is not a crowd in my opinion.
But if those same people were all gathered together watching a beach volleyball game, that will be a crowd yes?

You might be focusing on the wrong question? Instead of trying to determine legal definitions, I think you should concentrate on flying in a safe and responsible manner. If even one person is injured by your quad, you're going to be held responsible.

I think it's the same as the old definition of pornography --- "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it"

Just use your gut instincts and common sense. If you're flying over a beach that is sparsely populated, then you should have no problem. Hovering your quad 15 ft. over a crowded volleyball game is obviously douchey and dangerous.

Here's a good example of a Phantom pilot who chose to be ultra-douchey (and got the proper outcome):

Of course, we proud Phantom owners also know how to exact revenge on idiots who try to knock our quads out of the sky:

two's company....three's a crowd
Sounds logical. A crowd is 3 or more. ;)

Actually that is an old saying. I believe it was in reference to dating mainly. Guy and gal don't need a third wheel tagging along on a date.

I thought it was "three's company" Come and knock on our door... We've been waiting for you... etc... etc... etc... :D

Well... when one of the people in your "company" was Suzanne Somers, you make an exception to the rule, slinger ;)

To me, the only way to avoid all danger is to fly in the middle of the country, 50 miles from any living person, right?
At 25 mph, on a full battery, this thing could make it a long way. If it goes rogue, bam, trouble.
Im seriously rethinking this purchase. I love the idea, but the liability is crazy. I wish there was a failsafe, 3rd party parachute device that if it starts going batty you click a button and it deploys and lands safely... assuming you can stop the quads rotors.
