For numerous reasons I've not been able to fly my P4 for several months (6-7 or so). I'm now about to update my firmware etc to get the equipment up-to-date but what changes have there been and what can I expect to find different since my lay-off, mostly I guess is there anything new in particular to watch out for regarding the flight handling and management of my P4? I'm really wondering what I've missed (good and/or bad).

Thanks.

Thank you for your swift replies but maybe its me, but in reply to msinger I can't really see on the page link you sent any real kind of comparison of what was and what is ? and VW Rootman what restrictions and possible problems? My P4 has ben great up to now and when there is an update there is always people who say they are having problems with the changes or this or that. Any specifics would help as long as they are not third party stories.

Looking forward to Spring, perhaps I should have been a Bear?

My problem was, a lot of times just after the update my screen would turn green and I am not more than 50 m away. It caused me to nip a tree flying down a path in the forest. First and only crash. Lucky it was only about 2m off the ground. Cracks in the legs developed. There is no way DJI WILL FIX IT.

DJI moderators on the DJI forum, admitted to the problem. They had a patch for upload if people wanted to try it. You can read it, it’s there.

It took 45 minutes to do the updates. Many claim it bricked their drone in doing the updates.

Just trying to help. Please read around.

Thanks again WV for the quick reply.

You mention the screen going green just after the updates, did you do anything to stop it doing that or did it just stop on its own? Did you try the patch?

I've now updated everything and am hopefully going to fly in the next few days.

The release notes show the major changes in each version. You'll have to manually compare the versions yourself.
