Ughhhhh. My tablet is stupid or something. It stopped recognizing channel 13 again. I started and restarted and it just wouldn't pick it up. Simultaneously, I was running a WiFi sniffer app on my PC and it saw it, no problem. I gave up and went back to "US" and "Auto".

Some devices just don't have the hardware to successfully use Ch 13

I just wanted to post a quick update on this topic. Yes, we all know the address in United States it is illegal to use Channel 13 unless specifically allowed by the FCC. With that being said if any Phantom Flyers out there are looking for a workaround to be able to use Channel 13 I found that some of the higher-powered inexpensive Chinese tablets will allow you to connect via Channel 13 and control your aircraft. All US based devices since the mid 2000's have had their ability to use this channel blocked. I have verified this on a Mediatek KT107H which I scored for under a hundred bucks. Cheers!
