subject tracking on p3 std

Hello,

I'm new to drones, getting a p3 standard..will be arriving tomorrow. I know if i wanted subject tracking i should have looked at some other models but this was all that was in the budget, so i want to make the best of it.

I've tried to do some research but every discussion I find is at least a year old or so, I have to imagine that the 3rd party apps have improved by now?

What apps actually work for subject tracking on the 3? Or are they all still not so good? Does a GPS wristband or anything exist that allows you to use follow me? Cant bring a controller along with me!

You cant fly at all without a controller. Period.

But, you can try using Litchi and Litchi Magic Leash.

I know that lol. But I meant to set it down for a few minutes and have it track me.

I heard it litchi but everything I read said it didn't work so well, was all old posts though. Have not heard of Magic leash. Will look into it. Does it work well?

I have not used Magic Leash myself, but I fly pretty much exclusively with Litchi. If you have a really fast device "active track" could work, but you may be better off with Magic Leash. Welcome to the Forums by the way.

Thank you! Sounds like it doesn't work for iOS. Unfortunately I've got all newer apple products as far as phone and tablet go I do have an Amazon tablet (android) but I don't think it has gps.

Can you use the Magic Leash with a Phantom Standard on Android? To connect the Litchi app to the AC, you usually have to disable the cell connection and only use the drone's Wi-Fi hotspot.

that's my understanding of it and is why some devices cant use the feature such as some iOS devices without GPS
