No you don't even need that.

The telemetry just passes through the gimbal so you can effectively jumper the incoming telemetry feed to the outgoing wifi cable.

To get telemetry back just open the quad. At one end of the silver WIFI box you'll find a multipin connector with a black toroidal filter on the cable. Trace this cable and you'll see the other end goes down to another multipin connector that used to plug into the old gimbal. Pull this cable up and plug the they end into the CAM port on the mainboard (just next to the WIFI module). So it's CAM port to WIFI module. This will both power the WIFI module and send telemetry.
