Anyone familiar with CNC (ComputerNumericalControl) of laser, metalworking, metalforming etc machine tools has probably noticed the similarity to UAV autonomous flying. Being an old feller, I lived thru the advent of and progression of CNC over the last 30+ years. It actually started back in the 50's as NC prior to the advent of micro computers.
Rather than list all the similarities that I've noticed, I would enjoy hearing what you folks notice. A basic example would be creating and saving programs for later use. Another would be the dynamic readout of the various parameters while the program (or flight) is running including GPS coordinates being similar to XY position readout.
