I purchased a phantom 3 advanced and can not get it to link to the RC. Tried to update the firmware on the drone multiple times, tried with dji support cant get it.

Also find out the RC has the firmware for the professional cant get that to take the firmware for the advanced. I downloaded the latest off dji and it will not take the update. When i plug my iphone in with latest dji go app it shows the phantom 3 professional. And the go app says its connected to the phantom 3 professional. Is there a way to reset the RC so i can load the latest advanced firmware? otherwise i will have to send it back

Are you saying that you've tried the relinking process and it's not working? Is the green LED lit on your RC?

What issues are you seeing with updating the AC FW? Which FW do you have now on your AC and your RC?
Since you have chosen to update FW, are you following these steps to update?

Also find out the RC has the firmware for the professional cant get that to take the firmware for the advanced. I downloaded the latest off dji and it will not take the update.
FW for the RC is not specific to P3 model and it is downloaded only through the app. It is not downloaded from DJI. It was done that way in the early days of the P3, but it was changed about 2 years ago. [Note - the AC FW is still downloaded from DJI, but not the RC FW]

Follow these steps to update the FW if you choose to update.

When i plug my iphone in with latest dji go app it shows the phantom 3 professional. And the go app says its connected to the phantom 3 professional.
The app normally switches to the correct model once the AC and the RC have connected to each other and your device is connected to the RC. If it doesn't for some reason, you can normally manually change it to your model. Whatever the app shows prior to that connection is not a concern.

Yes, there is a way to force a reload of RC FW but from everything you've noted there is no indication to me that this what you need to do.

Based on what you've noted, I would first try the relinking process and we can go from there based on your feedbacks.

Also, forgive me but it sounds like you are not aware of correct processes for updating and/or using the P3. I suggest you thoroughly read the manual. You can find a link to it and many other tips at this location.
