Didn't initiate RTH because your RC was probably still powered on and you still had a green LED light. Our devices and the Go app are not really required for flight.

Yes - you are most likely spot on there ... I cannot remember green light on RC - but I wasn't looking at it - I was 'arguing' with my tablet !!

I always thought ATTI mode didn't include RTH as it was a kind of "freestyle mode" pretty sure I heard of a fee fly always because of people using ATTI without knowing what it really does

We would probably call those events drift always, AC carried by the prevailing wind as operator lacks knowledge/experience to fly. RTH functions in ATTI mode providing GPS lock is available and compass is fuunctioning properly. Identical to in P mode...
