POI Frustration HELP

I am using a phantom 3 standard..Firmware updated as of 7/12/17, DJI GO app, updated, Samsung Galaxy A 7, android system all up to date, Argtek antenna.. I am trying to use ANY of the F mode features. After flipping down switch 1 to the F mode position a little blue icon appears on my display to open up the menu.. but nothing will open nothing happens.. oddly when I am grounded and not in the air it will open.. also note multi function flight mode is turned on..
I have been told I can not use these features without cell service..
Going crazy any help would be great

Are you high enough in altitude when you try to engage the features?

Good question, I have tried everything from 20 feet to 200 feet, after pushing the button on the screen the options won't even open.. the only time it will open is if I am grounded, then it just tells me to re open after I have taken off

Eliminate the simple stuff first.
Do you know how to perform a clean reinstall of the Go app?
Do that first.

Force stop the app
Clear cache (DO NOT CLEAR DATA!!!)
Uninstall the app
Reboot phone
Reinstall app
