Phantom 4 Pro+ Controller SD Card Slot

Does the SD Card in the controller have any function outside of firmware updates? I'd like to be able to record the screen with overlays during my flights (in addition to the 4K footage shot and stored on the drone SD card). Maybe also save the log files here instead of the internal stprage since that seems more limited.

Is this possible? I could not find a lot of information on the controller SD card and its use on the various forums out there. I guess the Pro+ is still pretty new.

Any information would be helpful...

Very limited info is available in the user manual. But as I understand, it's a basically android system, so one can technically do a lot behind the scenes.
