Hi Guys

Im new to the drone setup (have minimal knowledge so bare with me). I bought a second hand FC40 which is in very good condition. After a long struggle and many posts i found that the camera is not compatible with the newer Android phones. I have a couple of ideas but would really appreciate your input.

1. I would like to remove old fc 40 casing and camera. Get a 2 or 3 axle gimbal (saw on ebay you still get for the phantom1)
2. Install something like a go pro 3
3. Install 2,4ghz or 5,8ghz FPV video transmitter.
4. Use samsung note 5 as screen for fpv.

Is this possible at all?
Which transmitters would you suggest and also which camera for the job. Only idea is to have FPV while standing at home.

Thanks

Well, I couldn't check prices but isn't a phantom 2 cheaper than a new go pro...well... that was my opinion ☺.

You're putting too much thought into an old bird.
Go pro probably too heavy for it especially if it has the original style props
I would find a used phone that works with it and be happy

Me too.
I think a GoPro would topple it and a Phantom 1 really would struggle with a gimbal as well.

You've gone to the effort now, don't go and sell the quad for a newer one, stick with it.

Personally, I'd buy a cheap and cheerful second hand phone off eBay that is compatible.

Hope it works for ya
