Part 107 Waivers from daylight operations

We get a lot of questions on the Part 107 waivers, when you should request them and what information you need to submit to the FAA in order to obtain one.. There are some part 107 waivers from daylight operations that came out of the section 333 exemption process. These waivers provide a good template which can be reversed engineered to submit your own waiver.

Now is a good time to request your waiver from daylight operations in class G airspace. Here are some free training videos on how to use the FAA website to submit a waiver in order to be able to fly at night.

It is unclear how long it will take the FAA to process these. Regardless, you might as well submit it now. Once you get your class G airspace nighttime permission, you'll be able to build on that waiver to request other airspace.
