The kind that is surrounded by private property which prevents people from seeing into a window... unless they break the law. Pretty common.
So what's the update on this news?
Has the drone owner handed himself/herself to the local police, or did a SWAT team have to break down the front door of the drone owner to arrest him/her?

While we are digressing, first an arrest does not necessarily equal a conviction in a criminal case. Proof beyond a reasonable doubt, to a moral certainty, often does not exist, and CSI has polluted the juries with unrealistic expectations of proof. I'll cite some of my own statistcs gathered over the years in a limited area. By the time a person is arrested and first charged with DUI, they have driven under the influence an average of 500 times! The vast majority of crimes go unsolved or remain unproven. Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

One thing I have to say after reading the story, and don't get me wrong, I do NOT condone this behavior as it makes the rest of us look just as guilt as he is. In fact i've been approached before by neighbors accusing me of invading their privacy when I don't even fly near houses, but up and away , several hundred feet away from ANY of their houses, and a couple hundred feet up... but you know, media hype / scare about privacy... ANYWAY, This guy obviously panicked because he was caught, and tried to fly away, but the guy followed to see where it landed. If he had half a brain about the operation of his machine he could have stopped in the air, and formatted his SD card from the remote.. AGAIN, hear me out, I am not condoning or trying to help anyone get away with anything, but it goes to show he doesn't know a ton about his craft and it's capabilities.
This is a reprehensible use of a drone and continues to discredit all of us in the public's eye. I can assure you, this kind of thing is getting FAR more publicity than legitimate uses.

It's kind of like when someone drinks, drives and hits someone. Do people blame the vehicle and other vehicle drivers? Of course not. But in this case people are lead by the media to think that this is some huge ongoing problem with drone use. In this case it was one person with a mental issue. He'd been convicted before of this offense without the use of a drone. He could have been using a DSLR or binoculars.

Definitely funny, a great way for the police to get a hold of the person and encourage him to turn himself in... lol
Lol.. I know as soon as I finished reading the article if I was him I wanted to turn myself in......lol I would have landed it at someone else's house....
If it was cold outside and the widows were shut up for winter you probably never hear it from inside, with radio/tv noises and such.

Glad they caught the guy. This kind of pervert makes us all look bad. Hope they throw the book at him. Maybe he was caught peeping on a kid? If so he's got some kiddie porn on that SD card and he's going to be a registered sex offender plus spend a few years in a federal lock-up where he can be with his own kind.
Just saw on the local news this morning a guy has a healthy law suit upon him in NH going on. He flew a drone inside a big party tent at a wedding after being told it was unlawful by the tent supplier/owner. Apparently it crashed into a woman's head. Woman is suing both the tent supplier and drone operator.

Ok, how the HELL does anyone "peep" with a dam Phantom drone? I have every neighbor on my block walking out there door when i launch mine because it happens to pretty darn noisy, and if doing it at night i know you can turn the front LED's off but the rear ones stay and are obnoxiously bright, and they BLINK! I guess its being done but its beyond me how these peeping drones are getting this type of footage before someone shuts their window shades. I mean maybe its a high rise with thick glass and they just cant hear it, i dunno..
Lol, I do photography for wildlife anyone handled DSLR camera will know.
