P4 cloudy video

I folks, thanks in advance for your input. I've purchased a new P4 recently and am down here in Costa Rica having a great time. I'm flying with a Samsung S7 Edge and have had zero issues with it. I spent the day filming a surfing competition and cannot seem to get decent video. I've not changed any default settings. Beautiful sunny day today and all of the footage came out milky looking. Like shooting threw a light fog. Also I understand you can zoom by pinching the screen but can't seem to make that happen. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a protective film over the lens?.....

Does anyone have any tips on getting the camera to zoom in the P4?
