Yeah I watched the video this morning and on another forum, comments have been shut down due to the usual left wing/right wing comments. Probably needs a reminder from CASA regarding the relevant legislation and maybe some free lessons in flying in an approved manner as it was her first time flying a drone. If it was anyone else, no would would care and I'm interested in how this pans out. In a perverse way, I was excited for her in seeing how much she enjoyed the experience.
All things said it would be a good PR opportunity for CASA to enlist Pauline & publicise current regulations.
Without knowing the AUS laws on the matter, it does look like Hanson was in violation of CASA rules. And a first time flyer operating a drone outside a hotel window sounds a bit reckless. She should record a public service video for the CASA that explains what the rules and guidelines are for recreational drone use in AUS. Just lightly mention the other video and say something like;
"You may have seen my fly a drone in another video. It was my first time flying and I made some rookie mistakes. I'm here to talk about how to be a responsible drone pilot and...."
