Your Mavic would have no problem. Once it approached the NFZ it would have landed safely. The military back then didn't have the technology to over ride the NFZ.

Practically speaking, it would be dropping like a rock before the shock wave even hit it. The EMP pulse would fry all the electronics instantly...
