Hello from the South west of Australia.
I purchased my Phantom 3 standard approx 2 months ago after much online research and reading of posts here. She has about 9 hrs flight time so far. Best $800 AUS I've ever spent.
I have some previous flying experience over the years with both helicopters and fixed wing models. I'm old enough to remember trying to fly helicopters pre gyros & then the first mechanical gyros (motor spinning two brass wheels on a pivot ) and finally the pizeo gyro.
Now we have stabilisation on all axis with GPS assistance , these things literally fly them selves.
I bought the phantom to use as a flying camera and it hasn't disappointed.
Here in AUS we have to fly VLOS so the 500 meter range of the standard suits me fine, I find if it gets much more than 400 meters out my ageing eyes start to struggle anyway.
Looking forward to being a long time phantom pilot.
