New member, 2nd P3 Adv project

Evening all,

Picked myself up 2x PA3 Adv over the weekend...

The one I'm working on rebuilding has a number of issues, namely

Cameras gimble unable to get a lock
AC flashing red when turning on
Double beep when turning AC on
Disconnected connector above ICU

Finally managed to get the controller to connect to my phone, shows Main Controller error.

Fw shows as requiring update
Battery shows as requiring update
Gimble alignment doesn't go beyond 2%

Have looked at test downs of the ICU, and that connector doesn't look too be from there.

Gimble "flat edge of axle" is aligned correctly etc

Long story short, thanks for letting me join, I'll no doubt be posting and have a few queries as I progress, so any advice gratefully appreciated!

Above all, DON'T update the drone's firmware! It usually causes more trouble than it's worth.

not bad quads but outdated now

Cameras gimble unable to get a lock

Lock? what do you mean

AC flashing red when turning on

Usual cause is lack of satellites, you need to get enough to lock a home point until then its red to warn you not to fly

Double beep when turning AC on

Could be a bad ESC

Finally managed to get the controller to connect to my phone, shows Main Controller error.

Main controller is the brains without someway to determine the issue it will be hard to trouble shoot

Fw shows as requiring update

As Dan says never ever ever update

Battery shows as requiring update

This is done along with the FW update see above point

Gimble alignment doesn't go beyond 2%

Gimbals are delicate things, also very complicated, usually best just to buy a replaceement
