New battery firmware destroyed my original DJI battery

That depends on the version of your battery. Older version batteries willnot upgrade. See release notes on dji.com.

Just received my new Vision+ V3.0. After connecting it to my Assistant Software I have discovered that all my firmware is currently the latest, version 3.8, or most current version except for the battery. I have received two batteries in my bundle and the one installed in the drone is showing a firmware of 2.0 with a update to 2.6 available. I'm concerned to update at this point after reading the comments in this thread. (I had read about it in preparation of receiving my Phantom) Should I update to 2.6 or leave well enough alone? How do I tell if the batteries I have are proper for update? (serial number, model number, etc.... they are both DJI OEM batteries)

Nevermind,, I went ahead and updated both batteries with Zero issues. Camera jerked around abit for a few seconds after each upgrade, then, held fast and behaved as before upgrade.
