Am expecting my second Phantom 3 Standard tomorrow. The first bird bumped into a building that jumped out in front of it last week. Pilot error unfortunately. So, I was thinking about covering the second P3S thru Neary Aerial's coverage. Anybody have any dealings with them for repairs or their service? Thanks in advance guys.

After checking with my insurance company I found out yes, they do insure UAV's as personal property, but since I have a $1000 deductible it wouldn't be feasible to use my homeowners policy to cover my P3S. I could buy 2 new ones for that.

Anyway, thanks flpholt for the suggestion. It was worth a shot.

And nobody has any dealings with Neary Aerial?? Wow, that's scary. I haven't seen any reviews on them, good or bad. I'll just have to stop bumping into stuff. Safe flying guys !! [emoji41]

Search the forum for Neary Aerial. Bunch of guys have gotten coverage, and the owner is a regular around here. The company is legit.

Yep, I've seen his posts here on PhantomPilots, and it seems like a good deal. Since I'm new to all this I'm still learning the do's and don'ts. Thanks bbfpv, I'll check it out.

According to Amazon, a new P3S is $346 with free shipping. The Neary plan for the P3S is $129.00. If you ask me, that's a bad deal. The P3S itself is so cheap, I don't think it's worth it to pay a service plan worth almost 50% of a new P3S. You would have to ship it out to Neary and wait for the repairs to be done. Plus, I don't think P3S parts are expensive at all. In my opinion, if you had a P3P it would totally be worth it.

True, but 2 year plan is $199. I can bump into more trees in two years rather than one year. And so far the trees have been winning. I appreciate your thoughts though. Still trying to decide if it's feasible.

I agree with you that it affords you two years of bumping into trees. However, I think your mindset is wrong. In my opinion, after going through one P3S and now starting on your second, you should be aiming for not bumping into any trees and learning how to fly the P3S well enough to a point that you won't need to spend more than 50% of the value of your P3S on a repair plan for something priced so low. The way I look at it, is that $349 divided by two years is $174.50 that it cost you to "lease" or operate your UAV per year. Adding the $100 ($200/2) just increased your cost to $274.50 per year. For $549 (274*2) you could have purchased a P3A with better camera and lightbridge. Anyway, I'm not here to tell you how to spend your money and also I am not giving you financial advise. It just that the numbers in my case just don't add up on this one. It would be a different story if your were trying to purchase a service plan for a more expensive item like a P3P or I1.

I have a Neary Plan, Matt was accommodating and I have a good feeling about their service for my P3A especially with the feedback from others.

I too have opted for a Neary Plan for my Standard. Even though the replacement cost of a P3S is low, I feel $199 for TWO years coverage is worth it. And their repair coverages on components is great. So, $199 for two years, (or 730 days) shakes out to .27 cents a day for complete coverage, no deductible, and free shipping both ways. 27 cents a day sounds good to me. You were right too about Matt. A super nice guy.
