I have a P2 and am thinking of upgrading the motors to 2312. I have the correct ESCs (v2).
Q1: The 2312 motors have thicker cores in the windings, presumably they draw more current from the batteries but are they more efficient?
Q2: Will I lose much flight time?
Q3: Are the 2312 more suited to 9450 props than the 9443 props?

I would be very interested in the results of practical tests.
Many thanks,
Paul

my thoughts

having owned a couple p2 including the vision plus.

back then when the new motors came out everyone figured they must be better....

many changed
many did not

I never did change my original motors and sold it fine a year later

any difference is most likely never noticed in real world flying
cost and time in my mind say no
if it aint broke don't fix it

but what ever you do.

good luck and have fun flying!

I tend to agree with you but I'm partly interested as I'm new to flying quadcopters and an engineer so wondered about the technicalities.
I might do the measurements myself just for fun of it. If I do I'll post my findings on this thread.
Thanks for your advice and perspective,

have fun for sure,
I enjoyed ripping into my first phantoms
doing gps antenna (VERY WORTH WHILE) updates, shielding and compasses and stuff like that

settled in with p3p now and haven't done a darn thing to it
just fly and enjoy the videos

good flying!

edit. if you do do this check the wires from esc to motors
some were brittle from heat
