Left Leg FIX per local RC store / DANGEROUS!

My local RC store had an interesting solution for the left leg issue. But I worry it might cause more harm then good. I want some advice if you think it would be safe to do!

Simply put they had a custom made bracket that connected to the phantom and the H3-3D, but it pushed the Phantom forward in space just enough that the camera couldn't see the leg.

Seems good enough but what would that do to stability to have all your camera and gimble weight pushed forward an inch or so.

I worried about balancing, but then thought if I am attaching the FPV and iOSd on the back part of the Phantom that it would balance out. Plus wouldn't adding additional components do this anyway (off setting the center of balance).

I don't have knowledge enough to know how much it matters. But if this seems to work it seems like the less hacker way to fix. Unless someone has better ideas! Thanks!

Ps if you don't know, who in the group would?

I'm surprised that DJI hasn't engineered another set of legs to correct this. It seems like such an easy fix.

As soon as I get my 3D printer, I'll get right on it. In the meantime, Edit the video.

They have a pair of extended legs with a wider stance designed to eliminate the leg problem.

I bought them but when I tried to install--after removing the old pair and all the accessories which was a lot of work--I discovered the grey wire that connects to the canbus leg port was too short to mount to the longer legs. Instead of using my brain and just sticking the canbus port to the side of my P2, I reinstalled the original legs.

If I get around to installing the extended ones again I'll post some pictures to save anyone else the hassle I went through.

Here's what they look like (not vouching for the seller): http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/191124228145?lpid=82

Here's what I did to mine that I posted in a different forum, it works good. http://www.djiguys.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=4440

What did your flight time end up looking like. Any issues?

I haven't really noticed any difference in the flight times but to be honest with you I never specifically measured my fight times before and after, or do I notice any difference in how it fly's and handles.

I would have gone this route myself, the thing that stopped me is that with those on it wouldn't fit in the Goprofessional case anymore. http://www.goprocases.com/dji-phantom2c ... ji-p2.aspx
