iPad Mini 1

We got a P34K this xmas. We have been using a 1st generation iPad mini for the display. I noticed this was not listed on DJI recommended devices. Anybody with good or bad experience using the 1st gen iPad mini?

Do not recommend it. Not a fast enough processor in the 1st Gen Mini. I'm surprised you have not experienced serious video lags. Definitely advise upgrading that device unless you are not experiencing lag problems and app crashes.

I have the 1st gen.
It does ok with my DJI GO on my P3Standard, but not the P3Pro which sends higherbitrate video to iPad.
Also, Litchi is no go even with P3Standard.
So it's barely making it, not sure how it works with P3-4k.

P3S and P34k controller and video link is the same or lower on the 4K. I have had no issues yet.

Is your a cellular version or do you cache maps? I have one I would like to try. Been using iPhone.

It is a wifi version only. I have not been caching maps....should I? Not sure how maps a loading on flight logs.

I don't know if you 'should'. But you won't have any map in the map view (expanded from tapping on map in lower left corner) if you don't cache them before hand. The phones load dynamically over cell service.

The maps will not load until we get home and connect with the WiFi.
