I'll "Download Only" via iTunes on the Windows computer and then wait before pushing it onto the iPad. Bad experience with it breaking the barometer in 10.0.1 and needing to roll back to 9.x, but they fixed it in 10.1.
Size is 2.32 GB which will take my 'crackerjack' AT&T DSL about 6-7 hours to download.
