Internet access while connected to p3s

Hey guys, so I have an nvidia shield tablet k1 that only has WiFi and I've been trying to find a way to get internet access on it while connected to the phantoms wifi so I can use the magic leash feature of litchi. I thought I had it the other day by setting up my iPhone as a mobile hotspot via Bluetooth and connecting to my device. I was able to get good internet on my tablet and stay connected to my phantoms WiFi and still have control, but my video signal would just keep going black as soon as the Bluetooth connected. Has anybody experimented with anything like this and been successful, either with a Bluetooth or USB modem on an android device. I know the obvious answer is just use my iPhone so I can use my cellular data, but if I can figure out a way to use my tablet I'd be much happier...
