can it happen?
today as P4P+ landed
discovered what looked like coffee or caramel stains
on drone's upper body surface & same on tip of nearest propeller;
along Peace River near Punta Gorda FL;
thinking might have been territorial bee or dragonfly...?
wiped it off, no photos...

I have carried baby wipes with aloe since I stated flying.
We have lots of bugs and more times than i care to remember
whatever I was flying came back like it had been in a barroom
knife fight. Those wipes clean it and kept em shiny ?
Now I always felt it left a residue on there that helped keep it clean.
And hey...when I have had one of those oh crap moments.
They are real handy. ?

It's almost impossible that this can do something to flight capabilities as it is very unlikely that motors become filled with such bugs.

I've watched videos of people flying into bee hives and there wasn't any problems, except for the clean up. Lol.
Let me rephrase that, hornet's nest.
Beleave I saw that one, tearing the nest up on the eve of a house.

I can sure relate. Had the "barroom knife fight" curse last week when my P4P went from mostly white to mostly red. Tried wiping the stain off with my fingers and noticed that two of them were missing. I still blamed the discoloration on bugs so my wife wouldn't yell at me for being careless.

I have always cleaned my P4 with a damp microfibre cloth then dried it. Finally I wipe it and the props over with a cloth wet with Pledge spray furniture polish to give it a wax coating then buff. The bird looks like it just came out of the factory after this treatment. Bug stains on future flights then just wipe off with no staining.

If you do get dried on bug stains you might want to try the specialised bug sprays sold at car accessory stores.

All the best, Martin

Ahhh 2 what where missing ?

Middle prop eh ?
Going to start calling you BoneHead ?
Didn’t you get that special edition model? The middle prop has a shaft that sticks up above the other props. The middle prop model is for people that is into more serious photography. It stabilizes the drone better. I thought you would have gotten one. Shame you missed out. They were a limited addition model. Maybe Bone4Drone will sell you his? LOL ?
