IMU Calibration

Hey guys, have about 30 flights under my belt with no real issues. Went down to the river to fly and got a yellow blinking massage that said to calibrate IMU. It blinked twice then went to the green safe to fly GPS. I probably shouldn't have but I went ahead and flew it without any issues. Did I take a gamble by not calibrating or was that just a fluke because it went green and safe to fly? What is it actually calibrating?

MadRC will tell you how to calibrate it. Just give it a calibration and make sure your firmware is up to date. I'm still new, but I did this the second time I turned mine on, after I updated the firmware, before I even flew.

Besides, I had that yellow signal the first time I turned it on to update. Then I watched this video.
