Careless flying is going to Hurt the safe ones By new stricter laws !....This is very scary for us drone pilots !....So you think way way way out far beyond your visual on your drone is fun ? Its Very very dangerous.
The WaPo story did state that the drone was at 1500 ft AGL, and the King Air 100 was on final approach when the contact occured. It didn't state what steps were being taken to find the drone pilot or other investigation into the incident. It just seems incredibly irresponsible for anyone to be operating an sUAS anywhere near the traffic pattern of any airport. This is what causes knee-jerk reactions that bring stupid laws on the books.
