Ground station for Phantom 1.1.1 ?

Question from a newbe
Having a P1.1.1 with upgaded motherboard, I guess it is possible to use the old GS ? I have the (old) GS app installed on my ipad air 2.
Just wondering if the system is still supported on IOS ?
It might be a problem to get room for every thing in a P1 shell so may be a P1.5 conversion (in a P2 shell) will be the best way to go ?
Any advise from experienced pilots would be welcomed.

Let me simplify the question.
Is the Ground Station still useful/ supported to day or may I end up bying some thing I cannot use?
