GoPro wih case?

Hey- so I got a phantom 1 for relatively cheap, as it is an "outdated" version. I don't have a gimbal yet. When I fly it, I'm not so worried about the actual phantom crashing but I do worry about my GoPro (brand new Hero4 Black). Has anyone ever tried using the GoPro in its case without using the little plastic mount that comes with the phantom? Or will that distribute weight strangely?

Yep I do it .
That's how I fly with it on my P1 when in manual . At least the GoPro will be ok if I go down
Ether flip up/down on the cam or flip it in editing .
