Gimbal yaw error,contact DJI, help what happened?

I was returning home on a Litchi mission about 1500ft out, clear , calm, but dull and windless, when suddenly I get "Gimbal yaw error,contact DJI", message flashed up, and the Gimbal went haywire.
I got home and landed OK, visually checked everything, and rebooted everything, and everything went back to normal.
I have had about 120 flights, and no crashes, and always been very careful, anyone any ideas what caused this,or is it just a random fault that will not repeat? Quite scary when it happens,looks like you are going to crash.

I always make sure I have the firmware on the drone and the latest Litchi version installed. A couple months ago I flew my Inspire 1 with the latest Litchi but an older Firmware on the drone. Litchi could not correctly orient the gimbal no matter what I did even though I could do it fin in DJI GO. I updated the firmware on the drone to the latest and everything was fine.

Just an idea.
