Hi all,

I have a quick question about battery charging - recently purchased a second hand P4 and want to charge the battery before I take it out this afternoon for my first flight.

Silly question I know but do I turn the battery on first then plug in the charger? Or do I plug in the charger THEN turn the battery on? Or does it not matter? This is the first drone I have ever owned!

You should charge the battery while it's powered off.

You would only turn the battery on before connecting to the charger in circumstances where it is close to fully charged and you want to top it off.

If you haven’t done so already I suggest you download the manual. It is worth taking the time to read it. These AC are ridiculously easy to fly but they do have some peculiarities in the settings and operation the knowledge of which might see you avoiding a mishap.

You're right when it comes to peculiarities - for some reason I need to plug the charger lead into the battery, switch the battery on then switch the charger on at the mains. Just plugging the battery into the charger does nothing! Anyway, its charging the way it's supposed to and have do the latest update.
I've had a look through the manual and went for a fly this afternoon. Still have lots to get used to.

Unless the battery is close to fully charged you shouldn’t have to turn it on.
