I have been flying my Syma X5C1 indoors to practice ATTI type flying and have been enjoying myself immensely. Recently I posted a video flying my P3P at Laughing Whitefish Falls. I didn't have good enough satellite signal to take off or land in GPS mode so completed my flight in ATTI and my practice paid off.
The x5 series are super easy to fly and great for beginners. Also lightweight enough that if you crash them, they do not get that damaged. I got one for my sister over the summer.
I got an x8c to practice with, and the first few times flying it I thought I would be turned off from quads forever. All I did was crash that thing. But it really taught me throttle control and now I love throwing that thing around in the air. The fun factor is through the roof.
