For me i like getting city and nature photography. However I live in a suburb around Indianapolis that doesn’t have a whole lot of natural nature (mostly corn fields). Also I only travel like twice a year and I would use it there but not a whole lot at home because all I would see is cornfields and suberb neighborhoods. So would it really be worth it to buy a drone?

I fly one of mine for fun/sport as I've been an r/c enthusiast since the 70s.
I'd bet once you had it you'd find it fun and lots of uses for it.

Yes, get Litchi and learn to fly the Waypoint missions. It is fun being able to create a mission, fly it then modify it and fly it again. Kinda like laying out a model railroad.

Difficult to answer. I'd say it would only be worth it if you had a strong interesting in creating photos and/or creating videos.
You could probably also find a lesser drone for around $200 (or even a used Phantom for around $300) to see how interested you are.
