Drone Pilots Worst Nightmare!!

When I was in Mexico, I took a weekend trip to Chapala.
We went to an island (Isla de Alacranes) and I wanted to fly the drone in Sport Mode.
I did not have RTH programmed to "Return to Controller"
I brought the drone down into my hands, and at the same time it went into Auto RTH!!!
The props were running full speed. Scared the crap out of me!!
I ended up pulling the battery with the drone in my hands.

I pulled the battery. I was using the Mavic, which is a little bit easier to pull off. The problem was I could not figure out how to shut it off on the controller and hold the drone at the same time!

When I hand catch, I grab with my right hand and shut down down by pulling back on the left stick.

I tried to do that, but the auto-RTH was kicking in. I literally had about 1 second and I would have lost it!
