Drone Battery causes home fire.

I can’t stress enough the risks of fire in the home. Many are caused by electrical fires. Smoke is the main killer. And the speed of a house fire is frighteningly quick.

It happened to us a few years back. We now have a small fire extinguisher and a fire blanket strategically placed near the inside door leading to the kitchen. And if anyone has kids, discuss with your partner what you would both do if a house fire was suddenly discovered. “Be prepared” can be a life saver.

Talking to the fire service professionals hits home the above messages. Also, meeting people shortly afterwards who have been through something similar confirms the frequency is more common that usually realised.

So, never leave batteries being recharged unattended - or mobile/cell phones. And unplug as many appliances as practical when not in actual use - especially when nobody will be remaining in a property. If anyone thinks such advice/actions as “extreme”, I can assure you that it’s normal for professional fire fighters who see the after effects on a daily basis.
